Visitors On The Lawn

With the onset of Autumn many of nature’s creatures are and will be looking for sustenance to survive the winter’s long duration. I invite your comments..

Have a superb weekend everyone,

Oh, they came again today!

Oh, they came again today!

Visitors On The Lawn

Oh, they came again today

and grazed upon my lawn.

Yes, they came again today,

the buck, the doe, the fawn.

He, with antlers full

majestic, tall and proud.

And she, with maternal instinct

chastised the fawn, aloud.

Content they were in morning’s light

with the dew still on the ground

seeming almost joyful

with the treats that they had found.

They fed upon the berries

and the salt-lick on a knot.

And when they come tomorrow

that’s when I’ll take the shot!
