Like A Dog In The Park

How about a little bit of jocularity for a Thursday morning, or afternoon, evening, or for that matter, whenever you chance to read it. It is hot off the presses, so new, the ink is still wet. Be careful not to get any on your hands, it is very difficult to remove. As I have said time and again the very best work of the poet or the lyricist, is that which require the very least of it, so here is a poem of little or no effort..Enjoy.

Be thrifty on Thursday, frugal on Friday, then have yourself a wantonly wild and wicked weekend. ( Do not take literally, for entertainment purposes only.)

Jake.

Ah, it don’t get no better than this.

Like A Dog In The Park

Somewhere between the dusk

and the dawn,

or betwixt the light

and the dark,

my mind does tend

to wander a bit,

like a dog set free

in the park.

It will run and run

for hours on end,

and roll around

on the ground,

but when it is done

with all of its fun,

returns with something

it’s found.

Now that thing may be large

or that thing, may be small,

it may have a value

or nothing at all,

but while it was gone

it sure had a ball,

and all without leaving

the pound.
