A Trip To Eden

I’m beginning to think I need a vacation. Although the winter here in New England has been mild by comparison, to the usual bitter cold and snowy weather, to which we have become accustomed. I find myself thinking of swaying palm trees, warm breezes off the ocean, white sands and cool drinks. Oh, yeah and bikinis(don’t tell my wife about that part). But alas, it will unfortunately, remain just a dream, for many reasons. So I will crank up the furnace, grab a beer, and put on some tropical-like shirt and shorts, and dream. Oh, and music, maybe something Jimmy Buffett-like, (hmmm “Cheeseburger In Paradise,” nah.) “Margaritaville,” okay… Or  *Where the Boat Leaves From” by the Zac Brown Band, perfect, yeah. So, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to grab a towel and sunglasses, and it’s off to the “islands” for an hour or so…Have a wonderful day.

                                                     Picture me here↓↓↓ I do!

Hoping your Monday leaves you with a dream. (Get your own, this one is mine.)

Jake.

* “Where the Boat Leaves From” by the Zac Brown Band is the perfect song for this post, if you haven’t heard it before, give it a listen.

 A Trip To Eden

 Warm sands,

cool drinks,

and fish, fresh from the ocean.

Steel bands,

golf links,

and ceiling fans, in whirling motion.

*

 Turquoise blue,

brown-skinned,

the ocean and the people.

Pastel hues,

gentle winds,

Sunday bells, ring from the steeple.

*

 Paradise found,

wish anew,

that the end may never come.

Homeward bound,

sadly true,

as my time in Eden’s done.
