A NEW YEAR UPON US

It would seem to me that each and every year we decide that this is “the time” to alter and atone for some of our bad behaviors of the past year (and/or life) and give up some of those bad habits. But I have a better idea. Why not point out the bad habits and behaviors of other people that we know (and work with?) and then suggest that they change THEIR bad habits and behaviors? I think then our chances of success will be far greater or at the very least, about the same as trying to give up ours and of course, the effort and inconvenience on our part will be much less demanding!

And as an added benefit there will surely be fewer offensive people in our lives this time next NEW YEAR!! Win, Win.

HAPPY NEW YEAR Everyone!
~Jake~

On your suggestion that we tell others to tame their bad behaviors…they would laugh at us and irritate us even more! I thank you for all of your support through the years, but, this year I wish you the very best of everything possible. Health….wealth…and peace.

    • And I in return wish the same and more for you and yours Sal.. There is no need to thank me for anything Sal, we are who we are and we do what comes naturally. Good luck and great health to you as well.

Haha! Why not, I haven’t been able to change after ? years attempts!

  4. Why change what is obviously working for you? Let the others make alterations to their pathetic personae(?) LOL

  5. adeeyoyo says:

Oy, I don’t know if I want others to point out my failings because I am well aware of them myself! Let us each point out others’ good points so that we can impress ourselves, lol!

  6. Ah, the protective optimist… How unique that would be! Happy New Year Addy!

  7. Oh, if only we really could do this. But with kindness. I agree with addeeyoyo that pointing the positives would garner better results.

May you be blessed in the new year with good health, peace, joy and the love of family and friends, Jake. Happy New Year!

  8. Pointing out the good in people would truly garner better results, but my attempt at humor, would garner much more interesting fodder for a while Audrey! Happy New Year!!

  9. Eileen says:

We could find a good twist or aspect of something irritating people do and affirm that and see if they take the challenge.

  10. Eileen, what I have discovered with this post is that many of my readers have given serious consideration to what was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek. I do not wish to alienate anyone, nor am I so unaware of my own faults and frailties that I would care to open that Pandora’s Box! So let us all enjoy/tolerate the individuality of our fellow idiosyncratics! Happy New Year to you and yours!
    Jake.
