What Is Luck?

I haven’t written anything for a while and this came to me as I was “pondering” my life’s situations and I thought I would share a bit of my mindset with you this morning. I hope that you will take something away from it and that you will perhaps reflect somewhat on those around you who make or have made a difference in your life and how they’ve made it worth the living.

Please enjoy the poem and your reflections,

Jake.

What Is Luck?

Why do most of us consider luck

as having to do with money?

When everyday there is something that

makes our lives more sunny!

*

People that we meet and know

are so much more the part

of the fortune that we gain

and hold within our heart.

*

You see, with gold and silver coins and bars

there is no warmth to hold

but a touch from someone dear

can drive away the cold.

*

Yes, money can make your living easy

but your life can still be poor

if there are none who love you then

what are you living for?

*

Material things are not flesh and blood

and have not greater worth

than those of whom we meet and know

in our time upon this earth.

*

So, my friends I say to you

let not fortune pass you by

and remember well, this little poem

and luck won’t leave you high and dry!

  1. I call the people in my life blessings. Blessings. I know you are blessed, Jake. May peace and grace shine upon you. And healing.

  2. You are so right Audrey, I am and have been truly blessed my entire life. Grace has been lavished upon me and I have always known peace, especially within. As far as healing is concerned, I have great faith that all will be well. Thank you as always for your comments, prayers and thoughtfulness. God bless us one and all.

You wrote exactly what I believe in my heart as well, Jake. I agree with Audrey that they are blessings heaped upon blessings and luck is just not really a thing with me. I hope that you are feeling especially blessed today. (Can you tell I am catching up on some reading this morning?)

    • Yes, I can and I’m honored that you included me in your file cleaning today. Audrey has an astute insight, I especially enjoy her mid-western (Minnesotan) photos and comments.

I have just been so behind on everything and running as fast as I can. I have missed you so had to make your blog a priority today. Audrey is very talented, that is a fact, and I am thrilled that you are following her as well. Cheers my friend!
