Father’s Day

Here’s wishing all of the “dads” a Happy Father’s Day.

Father’s Day

Any man can be a father

but not all can be a dad

it takes a special kind of guy

to love you when you’re bad,

to make you smile with a silly face

when he knows you’re feeling sad

or to keep you focused on what’s right

even if it makes you mad.

But, there are way too many fathers

that don’t care if you do bad

and they can’t and won’t be bothered

when your feeling down and sad,

because they take no interest

and that alone, should make you mad

for there’s one thing I know for sure

it’s that all kids need a dad.

And so, if you are a lucky one

and for whom life’s not too bad

then you should thank God everyday

for that guy that you call dad

and for those who’re not so fortunate

be oh, so more than sad

for they will never know the love

that you and I have had!

  1. That is so true, that difference between “father” and “dad.”

  2. Isn’t it though. In this day and age there seems to be more and more fathers and fewer dads, and that is a societal failure.
