Happy Easter to all of my Christian friends and followers and of course Happy Passover to my Jewish friends and followers as well. I wrote this yesterday in the spirit of Easter, it was written as a spiritual song as you will, I’m sure, be able to tell. I can hear it being sung in a Baptist church especially, or any Christian church for that matter, where joyous musical participation by the congregation is practiced and encouraged. Hallelujah!
Have a Happy and safe Easter everyone, may God bless us all.
Jake.
He Is Gone, He Has Risen
Well, they crowned Him with thorns
Lordy Lord, Lordy Lord,
yes, they crowned Him with thorns
Lordy Lord.
Oh, they crowned Him with thorns
so that we could be reborn
yes, they crowned Him with thorns
Lordy Lord.
***
Then they hung Him on the cross
Lordy Lord, Lordy Lord
yes, they hung Him on the cross
Lordy Lord.
Oh, they hung Him on the cross
so our souls would not be lost
yes, they hung Him on the cross
Lordy Lord.
***
Then they pierced Him in His side
Lordy Lord, Lordy Lord
yes, they pierced Him in His side
Lordy Lord.
Oh, the pierced Him in His side
but no hate would He abide,
yet, they pierced Him in His side
Lordy Lord.
***
Well, they laid Him in His tomb
Lordy Lord, Lordy Lord
yes, they laid Him in His tomb
Lordy Lord.
Oh, they laid Him in His tomb
and they cleansed out all His wounds
yes, they laid Him in His tomb
Lordy Lord.
***
Now, when they rolled that stone away
Lordy Lord, Lordy Lord
yes, when they rolled that stone away
Lordy Lord.
Oh, when they rolled that stone away
they heard the Angel say
“He is gone, He has risen,
kneel and pray.”
***
Now, when they rolled that stone away
Lordy Lord, Lordy Lord
yes, when the rolled that stone away
Lordy, Lord.
Oh, when they rolled that stone away
they heard the Angel say
“He is gone, He has risen,
kneel and pray.”
***
“He is gone, He has risen,
kneel and pray.”

Very nice, Jack!
Thanks Mary, Happy Easter to you and yours, see you in two weeks..
So, now that you have written this, will you work on finding a musician to write the music? It seems worthy of that.
I hope your Easter was a most blessed and joyous one, Jake.
Thanks Audrey, but probably not, I have a few others that I like but I don’t know how to go about getting someone to actually put music to them.. But thanks for the vote of confidence. And yes thank you my Easter was excellent, as I expect was the same for you.
Yes, a nice Easter. Church and then dinner with my eldest and her husband and a nephew and his family. Also talked later with my other daughter and son, in northeastern Wisconsin and Boston.
It’s nice to hear that Audrey I’m happy for you and your family. Easter is a special family day isn’t it?
