The Memory Of Christmas

There is a special feeling that the Christmas Season brings to people everywhere. Though over the years the message of Christmas seems to have been diminished and altered in such a way as to focus more on the materialistic and less on the primary reason for the celebration itself, the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. But, there is still room for the fantasy and magic of Santa Claus, his elves and flying reindeer, towing a sleigh full of toys and goodies, along with the memories that they’ll bring, as long as we teach our young WHY, we celebrate Christmas and what the lights and the sharing of  gifts is really intended to remind us.

And that is the message of this poem.

     Merry Christmas to all,

The Memory Of Christmas.

The Memory Of Christmas.

The Memory Of Christmas

Oh, the lights of many colors

trim the houses and the trees

while turning back the hands of time

to Christmas memories,

of childhood days so long ago

when innocence had its stay

and Santa Claus would visit

on every Christmas Day.

So hard it was that eve to sleep

awaiting morning’s light

never wondering not a once

how he did it in one night.

 You see, innocents are believers

in all things good and true

until the magic disappears

and their world begins anew.

So let your children live the joy

don’t rush them into real

but allow for them a remembrance

that a lifetime cannot steal.

Yes, share with them those stories

of Santa and his sleigh

but relate to them the reason

why we celebrate Christmas Day!
