Teardrops Of A Cold Heart

Sorry seems to be the hardest word“* Sometimes in our lives we come across people who just do not have a kind word or act for anyone except themselves. These are the people who will someday end up alone and never thought of, at least not in a positive way. It seems to me that sometime or times, in their lives, they have been hurt or been denied the attention that all living things need for healthy nurturing. And until they realize that their behavior is contrary to what the rest of society considers normal behavior, then they are condemned to a life of solitude and misery. To look inside oneself can be more painful than staring at the sun.. But it is the only way to truly open one’s eyes.

Enjoy the poem everyone, and have a great weekend.

Jake.

* Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word, by Sir Elton John was recorded and released in 1976. See below for more info including lyrics.

Teardrops Of A Cold Heart

 Snowflakes are teardrops

of the cold hearted soul

too late in the warming

for not a minute more, stole.

Frozen in time

while the memory lasts

and never to thaw

until the hurting has passed.

 *

Each one is distinct

from all others you see,

and they collect in the mind

but are hard to set free.

They fall and they tumble

then cover the ground,

but no plow can remove them

until I’m sorry, resounds.

What have I got to do to make you love me
What have I got to do to make you care
What do I do when lightning strikes me
And I wake to find that you’re not there
What do I do to make you want me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I say when it’s all over
And sorry seems to be the hardest word
It’s sad, so sad
It’s a sad, sad situation
And it’s getting more and more absurd
It’s sad, so sad
Why can’t we talk it over
Oh it seems to me
That sorry seems to be the hardest word
What do I do to make you love me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I do when lightning strikes me
What have I got to do
What have I got to do
When sorry seems to be the hardest word
