Backyard Fun (The Pool)

Number four in the backyard fun series. Kids don’t try this at home without sober adult supervision… As you will see, that rules me out, good luck!

     Have a winsome Wednesday everyone,

Jake.

Backyard Fun

(The Pool)

As the weather got hotter

the more enticing the water,

lapping the sides of my pool.

But then there was the matter

of assembling a ladder,

with instructions not proofed of the fool.

Just two tools” were required

and that had me inspired,

as I set out that day

to the task.

But before it was ended

and my intellect, offended,

where is the damned chainsaw” I’d ask?

Connect side “A” to side “B”

with bolts one, two and three

and the steps would gently, pop in.”

But, nowhere did it say

which was the “B” or the “A”

and of course, I had to restart again.

So then came the trial

upon the first step, a smile,

but, that was the last for that day.

For step two and step three

were not ready for me,

and with one foot on each, they gave way!

Then, with a now aching head

and the instructions re-read

I had no desire to once more begin,

I had a thought so fantastic

hey, that ladder is plastic”

and that’s where, the damned chainsaw came in.
