The Dark Side Of Heaven

Just a thought, or two, for a Sunday morning. It is a poem in need of pondering.

     Please read and enjoy,

Jake.

From the song Hotel California by the Eagles.

“This could be Heaven or this could be Hell.”

The Dark Side Of Heaven

There are those who will say

that there isn’t a Hell

and into its depths

we’ll not slide.

But if that is true

I will say this to you,

then Heaven must have,

a dark side.

 *

You must live, your life

in the best way,

so to Heaven you’ll go

when you die.

I was raised to believe

there, my reward I’d receive,

when I went to the sweet

bye and bye.

*

But, there must be a dark side

of Heaven,

if it’s true that there isn’t

a Hell.

Yes, there must be a dark side

of Heaven,

for all of those angels

who fell.

*

 When our souls do arrive

at those Pearly Gates,

is there a path

to the left and the right?

 And who has the say

who goes, and which way,

to the dark side

or into the Light?

*

Is there a book of our deeds

and a tally,

of the good and the bad

that we’ve done?

And if there’s more wrong

are we’re moved along,

to the dark side away

from the Son?

*

So, there must be a dark side

of Heaven,

if it’s true that there isn’t

a Hell.

Yes, there must be a dark side

of Heaven,

for all of those angels

that fell.

*

Yes, there must be a dark side

of Heaven,

if it’s true that there isn’t

a Hell.

Yes, there must be a dark side

of Heaven,

for all of us sinners

who fell.
