The Turning Of The Worm

Short and sweet, plain and simple, this poem is about minding your own business. And what may happen if you don’t..

     Have a great Thursday everyone,

Enough Said?

Enough Said?

I think that we should ask

if it is wise, for us

to probe and delve,

into things not our concern.

And where we’ll stand on the other hand,

at the turning of the worm.

Will it indeed improve

our wealth,

or pose a hazard

to our health,

those things, not our concern?

He has not wept whose business kept,

at the turning, of the worm.

For what goes up, will sure

come down,

and all things in circle

come back around,

should be a matter, for our concern.

For any joy we get today, may turn to sorrow fast away,

at a turning of the worm.

Yes, any pleasure that we

gather now,

will be returned to us in pain

from those things, not our concern.

Then others will be where now are we,

at the turning of the worm.
