Open To Scrutiny

"Everywhere you go"

“Everywhere you go”

“Tattletale” used to have a negative connotation, but with money to be made/had by sending “us” your pictures, stories, videos etc. we have become a society of,,, yup, “Tattletales”. Greedy, attention-seeking, people, not at all unlike those made infamous by George Orwell in his novel “1984.”  No privacy, secrecy or even modesty is sacred anymore, when there is money available for the taking, all bets are off. Cameras are everywhere on buildings, on police vehicle dashboards, in stores, and in just about everyone’s pocket by way of the cell phone. If it’s being done, it’s being “caught on camera” by someone… So watch yourself, so that everyone else doesn’t get the opportunity.

Remember it’s April 1st don’t be fooled today,

"...I'll be watching you.."

“…I’ll be watching you..”

Open To Scrutiny

With whistles and bells,

all secrets we tell,

for nothing’s secure anymore.

Connecting in seconds,

with those we would reckon,

to seek the gist, and the core.

Even baring ourselves,

our souls we would sell,

if, but a few dollars, we’d score.

For we have all fell,

under the spell,

of the internet’s windows and doors.

The very phones in our hands,

have the world on command,

and pictures in an instant can soar.

For *Orwell’s “Big Brother,”

perhaps is none other,

than the person you’re standing before.

  1. Beth Ann says:

Great words for today!!!! I know that nothing is secret anymore……

  2. Sally says:

I can only feel pity for those who do harm to others for $$.

    • It is so commonplace in this day and age that money is the driving force and common courtesy is a thing of the pastwhile the “Golden Rule” has taken on a whole different meaning.
