An Angel’s Smile

While I have complained lately about a lack of creative energy and a lackluster effort to improve upon that condition, sometimes it just won’t be stifled. Here is an example of that. I was standing in line to buy stamps at the post office last week and I experienced a situation that practically wrote itself. I hope you will enjoy it, as much as I enjoyed the experience.

     Angels indeed, are among us,

Jake.

Angel's Are Everywhere!

Angel’s Are Everywhere!

An Angel’s Smile

There she sat, pretty in pink

relaxing on the floor.

With eyes as blue as cobalt,

watching movement towards the door.

*

I mouthed hello, and smiled at her

she grinned from ear to ear.

It was then that I was drawn to her,

she knew not yet, the stranger, fear.

*

Others too, by her were taken,

by her innocence, pure and true,

while she reveled in the attention’s light

showed in eyes of sparkling blue.

 *

An angel’s smile from heaven sent

with her hair a halo’s gold,

capturing the hearts of men,

and she, but five months old.

  1. Sally says:

I can visualize her….precious….well done, Jack, well done!!

    • Thanks Sal, she was just beaming and so personable it made going to the Post Office pleasant, for a change. Her mother said she just loves attention, and those blue eyes… OMG. Precious is the right word to be sure..
