Closets And Windows

It’s been a few years since I last posted this one. Still it is one of my favorites. It is moralistic without doubt, but that moral, is more evident today with all of the “social media” and “smart phones”  and our other devices that are so popular for spreading the news or the “dirt” about other people, and yet we find it so shocking, when they expose our habits, peccadilloes, quirks and oddities. Yes, my friends “Big Brother” is here and he is watching, but he is you and me.. So before you post those pictures that you think are so cool, beware, you may be the next “star” in someone else’s production.

I do hope that you enjoy this,

Jake.

Shutter and lace

Closing curtains
opens imaginations..

CLOSETS AND WINDOWS

Every, closet holds a secret,

and every window, has its shade,

to hide from prying eyes,

mistakes, that we have made.

*

Every house, in every town,

and everyone, on every block,

has, something that about,

they have no wish, to talk.

 *

And some, will hide away,

what to some, may seem benign,

the magnitude of secrecy,

is theirs only, to define.

 *

But, when all is said and done,

after all, we’re just the same,

peering into other’s windows,

while curtaining our own shame.

  1. curtaining – I like these inventions with words in poems. A noun is verb form. There must be a name for this technique. I made up one the other day. rainbowizing
