Work To Be Done

A bit lazy and lethargic today, not to mention a bit under the weather, so I will keep this intro short.. I wrote this last June on a lazy (how appropriate) day, and now with the Arctic blast about to befall us here in the Northeast U.S., a short side trip to summer seemed like a good thing.

     Please enjoy your Saturday,

Jake.

Lazing by the river

Ah, the imperfect day for work..

Work To Be Done

I rest my eyes

in the summer sun

thinking not,

of work that needs be done.

Breathing lightly

the warm fresh air,

and of the work to be done

I do not care.

I have been given

this perfect day,

and all thoughts of work

have gone away.

As for tomorrow

it may rain,

and the work to be done

be just the same.
