A Walk Amongst The Ancients

A little more on the political/historical side if you will. I posted this last year in advance of the elections, as I felt the erosion of personal rights and moral issues to be looming on the horizon if  changes in Washington D.C. were not made. Now, I am not a Constitutional scholar, nor a Constitutional lawyer, I am just an American citizen, and one who believes that God gave us, at the time, the most brilliant and forward thinking of men, men of good moral standing and with a great faith and belief in that very same God, to craft and create the documents necessary for the foundation of a nation.. A nation, “of the people, by the people and for the people” and a form of government that has thrived for now, hundreds of years. That is until now! Our Constitution and Bill of Rights is about to be assaulted and bastardized by politicians.. The very creatures that our forefathers warned us about! It  was never their intent that we should have “professional” lawmakers and a separate, political class. The intent was that the citizens would send a “representative” to the Capital to speak for THEM, not for the party or the “Political Action Committees”  but for their friends, their neighbors, their PEERS..

I feel that those Founding Fathers must be disgusted and sickened at what we have allowed to be done to their masterpiece. I believe John Adams said something to the effect; ‘With Democracy, you always get the government that you deserve.’ Yes, we created the monster! We elect, but we do not inspect. It is time to take a closer look at what is happening to our beloved nation. It is time to look backward for our future!

A Walk Amongst The Ancients

As I walked amongst the ancients,

I sensed they, the hallowed there,

and the names on stones from long ago,

screamed out, in great despair.

“Where hast gone, which we devoted to,

why still, is it not here?

We gave our all for freedom’s sake,

and all’s now lost, we fear!”

“For it is now the few, with voices raised,

who demand the greater say.

‘Twas not that way envisioned,

on Independence Day!”

“Nor was it framed, that those who share,

a godless point of view,

should force their will, upon the many.

If it that be, indeed all’s lost and through!”

“For beyond the first, all further laws,

by government, hence enacted,

have altered then our purpose,

and liberties, thus retracted!”

“There’s but one chance to righten,

and shift from what’s astray.

You must heed our words, and vote by God,

Whence comes Election Day!”
