It’s Not Too Much To Ask

Somewhere in this world, there are members of our armed forces, who at this very moment in time are facing, or are about to face, life-threatening situations. Yes, our troops are still deployed in hostile environs and they are still fighting and dying for this country and our way of life, as have thousands before them! Why, you ask? Because of honor and duty and out of love and devotion to this nation!

Their mission, though it seems so far removed from our relatively comfortable lives back here at home, is to ensure that “We The People” continue to enjoy all of the “Blessings of Liberty, for ourselves and our posterity.”

And so therefore, it is our responsibility to them, to remember that without their sacrifice and of that of their predecessors, our freedoms and  those of countries all around this world, would have long ago been stripped from us. So please, let us all keep them in our prayers. May the Good Lord keep them safe and bring them home soon. AMEN!

The following is written in their honor and with the greatest of admiration and gratitude of this American citizen.

Prayers and Platitudes

It’s Not Too Much To Ask

I have felt the pain

of the anguished.

I’ve inhaled the winds

of war.

I’ve tasted blood

upon my lips,

and I’ve heard death’s

mighty roar.

*

But, I have seen the face

of honor,

that you, may breathe

of Freedom‘s air.

So, while you sip from the cup

of Liberty,

 please mention me

in your prayers.
