A Question of Freedom

God Bless  Our Vets!

Jake.

Veterans Remembered

Thanks for your sacrifice

A Question Of Freedom

 “Daddy?” she asked,

in bed, all snuggled and warm,

“daddy what is freedom,

and where does it come from?”

 *

Her father, a veteran,

knew all of the truths,

but, how could he tell her,

 of so many lost youths?

 *

How, could he speak,

of the blood and the gore,

of the heroes and patriots,

of now and before?

 *

Would she understand,

what their sacrifice meant,

and how, oh so many,

still remain, where they went?

*

 So we here at home,

can sleep safely, at night.

For freedom’s not given,

though it is every man’s right!

*

But, he just looked at his daughter,

and smiled with a nod,

and then he told her this truth.

“It’s a blessing, from God.”
