Politics In Haiku

Election Day gone

My candidate did not win

The end is now near

……………………………………………

 Lawyers or liars

All candidates seem to be

Just one and the same

…………………………………………….

 Republicans cut

Democrats increase taxes

 Either way we lose

………………………………………………

 Political ads

On hold for a short while now

 Oh Hallelujah

…………………………………………………

 Promises all gone

A new beginning is now

The same old story

……………………………………………………

~Jack Downing~

Please note, that in keeping with what I believe is about to happen to our withholding taxes, I originally withheld one syllable in the final verse. It has now been restored.

  1. Beth Ann says:

I think I know how you feel. Now is the time to just draw together and know that we all voted our minds and we need to focus on the positives instead of all the negativity that has been flung back and forth. Oh and pray. Without ceasing. 🙂

  2. The last one rings so true and probably why I feel no emotion one way or the other about the results.
