The “Hoolies”

     As I said of yesterday’ poem, that it may have been fitting for a Sunday, then this new poem, may be fitting for a Monday, but I hope it’s not too fitting. Have some fun with it but, heed the message.

     I don’t usually like to post new poems, as that tends to put pressure on me to “fill the gap” so to speak. But what the heck, enjoy!

      Mondays that require medicine, last three times longer than the average Monday… THAT’S A FACT, and it has been personally and thoroughly documented, by a “double-blind” study.

Savor your Monday, it could be worse!

Never Again..

The “Hoolies”

Oh, the “Hoolies” come to visit

in the morning,

after the night

you’ve had before.

Yes, the “Hoolies” come to visit

without warning,

they shake your hands

and spin the walls and floor.

 Then they send you off in search

of that same dog,

but, that is when

the “Hoolies” disappear.

And along with them

they take away the thick fog.

But they’ll be back, upon the morrow,

have no fear.

*

 But, when the “Hoolies” come to own you

you’re in trouble.

Yes, when their visits

now grow shorter everyday,

’cause you wake up in the morning,

seeing double.

And with a double shot

is how you’ll start your day.

*

 So a visit from the “Hoolies”

should give you worry,

for it could be a sign

they’re moving in.

For like a visit from an in-law

in no hurry,

both will have you reaching,

for the gin.
