The Here And Now

Another look inside the head of yours truly. After many years of living for today, I have decided, that except for not being prepared financially, the rest of that philosophy has worked pretty well for me, I try not to live in the past and I really have no way of knowing how much of a future I have, so that just leaves the “Here And Now.” Anyway, it’s too late to try another tact so I will just ‘keep on keeping on’ ..

     Please enjoy your Friday,

The Here And Now

I live my life

in the moment.

I don’t dwell

on the future or past.

‘Cause there’s no guarantee

of a future,

and the past, as they say,

has passed.

And I can’t change a thing

that I’ve already done.

Nor the things

that I haven’t done yet.

While I may do alright

in my upcoming days,

it’s my past,

that I’d like to forget.

There were things that I’ve done

or could have.

And there were things

I’ve neglected to do.

Sure, there were some things that I’m proud of

but those be less than a few.

So, I’ll stay right here

in the present.

And go through the motions

once more.

For today is the day

I have control of,

and not those of the after,

or a’fore.

Yep—totally agree with this one!!! I always try to live in the moment. Used to worry a lot more about things than I do today—maybe it is old age that has set in but I would rather spend my time enjoying than worrying needlessly about things that I can do nothing about. Sieze the day!
