What riches bring to human kind
be not always joyful bliss,
for hatred’s bred from out of greed,
if but one coin, be missed.
The Kings Family
Once there was a rich man,
so rich, he thought he be,
better than the rest of us,
and the king of you and me.
Oh, yes he had more money,
than leaves there on a tree,
but, his riches couldn’t save him,
for his highness, dead, now be.
And he passed into the dark alone,
with his spirit, then set free,
taking not one penny with it,
to spend in eternity.
And, so the worth of his earthly kingdom,
from the “A” down through the “Z”,
be contested now in court,
by his “royal” family.
No thought now given to his life,
the king’s passed from memory.
For now, the jewels of the crown.
bear more interest, you see.
The “princes” and the “princesses”,
and descendants all, of he,
are swearing that the others,
deserving of naught, to be.
“The crown of the king and its might,
should pass solely, unto me.”
And so say all of them,
from the full-grown, to the wee.
Though not a one, in public speak,
and they, seldom do we see.
Only their lawyers and agents,
express, for exorbitant fees.
But, this kingdom too, shall pass,
and soon be history.
As the lawyers and the agents,
pick leaves off the family tree.
They’ll trim and prune, until the day,
not left, one leaf there be.
Then leave that “royal” family,
on the brink of poverty.
