I Remember?

Oh, what the heck, why not keep the theme going for one more day? The magic dart ended up on another one of those, “Who am I, where am I, what am I doing here and who the hell are you” poems.

The funny disturbing thing about these poems is that lately, I’ve been having more and more of these “what was I going to say?” moments, which used to be followed by, that’s alright it will come to me in a minute. However, the minutes now go by and I soon forget what it was that I was trying to remember in the first place. A vicious cycle to be sure, and frustrating to no end.

So, before I forget how to publish it, here is another, and the last for a while, (unless I forget) installment of the “Senior Citizen Syndrome.”  Remember, this could happen to you.

Jake.

Is the answer. But what was the question?

I Remember?

 The past seems as clear,

as this morning’s sunrise,

all the names, the places and times.

And, as if they were near,

the old voices arise,

and whisper in ‘Nursery Rhymes’.

 *

But, I don’t recall,

the breakfast I ate,

after that sunrise today.

Wasn’t there someone to call?

What is the date?

And where do I live, anyway?
