When Sparta Joins With Athens

With the Olympics going on in London, and the world’s athletes joining together in peaceful competition, I’m reminded of Ancient Greece, where the original “games” began. Athens was the home of the scholars and the learned, while Sparta fostered and developed the warriors and protectors of the land. The hawk and the dove sharing one great civilization. Could it happen again? Only time will tell and only God knows.

So rare are the days of peace, embrace them when you can,

So, does this mean we’re friends?

When Sparta Joins With Athens

We talk about a “bird of peace,”

like it is sent from up above,

but, maybe she will nest with us,

when we cease to push and shove.

When we can live together,

and show each other love,

when Sparta joins with Athens,

when the hawk becomes the dove.

Do you think this will happen in our lifetime??? I hope so but am not sure…..great offering today, Jake. I really really like this one!! And the image was pretty darn perfect to go along with it.

    • Beth Ann I don’t think it will happen in our lifetime. There is too much bias and hatred in the world and couple that with jealousy and greed and the formula for peace is not likely attainable in the near future..Sad as that may be..Thank you as alwaysfor your valuedopinions, theyalways positive and upbeat and never cease to brighten my day..
