Special Love

After seeing a close family friend’s posting on Facebook the other day, I realized the “special” kind of person that it takes to be the parent of a “special needs” child, as well as the other family members, along with the teachers and care givers. I once heard someone say, that God gives us only, that which we can handle. The strength that is required, both physiological and psychological, for this task, is far beyond what God has given this mere mortal. I am totally amazed and in awe, of the patience and the fortitude of these “saints” on earth.

This poem is dedicated to the parents who put so much of their lives into the lives of those who need it more. And while they may not see this poem, it is especially dedicated to Jeanne and Eric C., (last name withheld for privacy considerations) and EVERYONE else, who put the “Special” in the lives of those who were chosen for them. God bless you all!

Please read and enjoy, and as I, be grateful that God knows our strengths, and more importantly, our limitations.

I have second hand knowledge of being a parent of a child with special needs – this being my sister & brother-in-law you are referring to. Yes, the energy required by each of them to parent a 22 year old child with special needs is enormous. Thanks Jack for acknowledging and educating the uneducated to the role they and all parents of children with special needs are placed in, and not one they would have chosen if given the choice.

    • I am touched by the response Mo. I think I referred to this in the intro, that “special” people are chosen for “special” missions in life..God chose wisely in Jeanne and Eric’s case.. God bless all of you..

I totally agree with this, Jack.

When it comes to fine jewelry, i always opt for ruby and emerald because they look luxurious and the price is not very high. *:’;:
