I Thought Today

When Beth Ann over at “It’s Just Life.wordpress.com” published her post yesterday (1/19/12)  “The Final Word?” (check it out) about a new ‘Facebook‘ app., that allows you to record a message or video to be posted by a “friend” or friends (3 to be exact) after your passing,,, not your mid-term exam or your driving ability or your odoriferous emisssons…Your Passing, your demise, your departure, your death, however you want to put it, I posted my thoughts in her comments section. Then I came across this poem in the   “Wayback Machine,” (*see below, with thanks to the writers of the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show) and thought, “the last two lines of this, are fitting to my comment.” So, see if you agree, read this poem and then go to “It’s Just Life” and the comments section, (for Thursday Jan. 19, 2012) and decide for yourself.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman

and the “Wayback Machine

      Have a fine Friday,

Jake.

I THOUGHT TODAY

 Intelligence, and common sense,

should never, be confused,

I’ve heard tell, of the brilliant man,

who, could not, tie his shoes.

And, who would be the smarter,

                                                      the intellect of the day,

or, the man there, on the street,

who, when crossing, looks both ways?

                                                       *

Yes, common sense, is rare today,

and not so common, after all,

we use machines, to think for us,

so, we don’t have to think, at all.
