Oh, we’ve all heard the stuff about the “good old days”, haven’t we? Well sometimes, those things are without a doubt, true. But of course, none of us would want go back to those days because of all the advancements in technology and medicine and the quality of ‘living'(but life?) that we enjoy today. However, there are some things about those “good old days” that we should consider, when we think about how good we have it today. We have sacrificed a good deal, to get to where we are today. These are just a few of those sacrifices.

                                                                  Do you remember,

  those summer days,

   with time suspended,

   in a daze,

                                                                    of clear blue skies,

                                                                  and sunshine’s rays?

When hours passed,

like hours should,

and it was safe,

to walk the woods,

and your name was known,

in the neighborhood.

When beaches were clean,

without the waste,

washed ashore,

or left in haste,

and the water had,

no metallic taste.

Ah, the days of yesteryear,

will they ever re-appear?

I think not,

and it’s my fear,

that what is now,

will be held as dear.
