Christmas, is a time to celebrate with friends and family and wishing for all, love and joy, hope and happiness in His name. Then comes the New Year with more parties and more good times, and the resolutions that we make for the coming year on how to improve our life and be a better person in some way. But, something may be missing, during all of those festivities, the old and dear friends, who are no longer able to be here with us to share in our joy and yet whom we will never forget. Then,  for whatever reason, there are those with whom we are just no longer friends, and deep down, especially during this season, we miss them too. You can never have too many friends, but when in need, you’ll know when you have too few. Sadder still, is the fact that in many cases this animosity extends to family members as well, we have all heard of the feuds or hateful words spoken between “flesh and blood” and the oaths to never speak again. It’s CHRISTMAS, c’mon, remember the happier times, pick up the phone..Someone has to be the first, and if nothing comes of it, someone tried, let it be you.Â
I have a wonderful loving family, and so perhaps I don’t know what it is like to go through a situation like that, and maybe it is too easy for me to “preach” because I have not experienced it. But, I have a friend or two that I have lost contact with and haven’t spoken with in a long time, really close friends and barely a few miles away… I will take my own advice and reach out to them before this Christmas is through… Someone has to be the first…
    Please enjoy,
Jake.

LIFE IS A FEAST
 Precious and dear,
are family and friend,
and not until, they’ve vanished,
do we remember,
that life is a feast,
and now, they’ve left us famished.
*
 And pity more so,
the feuding ones,
who, from their lives, they’ve banished.
Let the olive’s branch,
extend to those,
before the permanence, of damage.
