Santa Wants A Bailout Too

     I wrote this back in 2008, when the U.S. Government was handing out money, that they didn’t have, to entities that had already mishandled the monies that they did have… And thought that was a good way to stimulate the economy, when all it stimulated was the greed of the beneficiaries. Because of the lack of conditions applied to the “help,” more “needy” companies and industries inquired as to the possibility of some relief for themselves. Yes, the economy was going through tough times, but just how tough, became evident when the news broke that;

SANTA WANTS A BAILOUT TOO

 First Lehman brothers, and A.I.G.,

and other names, that we all know,

headed down, to Washington,

with their hands held out, for dough.

*

Then came the guys, who make the cars,

what a shameless crew,

but, it’s worse, than we all thought,

’cause now, Santa wants a bailout too.

*

You know that things are tough, all over,

when the North Pole, feels the squeeze,

this year don’t look, for ho, ho, ho’s,

when you’re sittin’ on Santa’s knees.

*

And if you write him letters,

please keep them, nice and short,

then send one to your Congressman,

to show Santa, your support.

*

Santa says that a hundred billion,

should last, a year or two,

I know it’s sad, the world’s gone mad,

when Santa, wants a bailout too.

*

Now, the elves are facing layoffs,

and reindeer feed, is high,

and Mrs. Claus, says Santa’s lost,

that twinkle, in his eye.

*

But, she says that a hundred billion,

would help his, recovery plan,

he’ll buy his toys from China,

electronics, from Japan.

*

And he knows that all that money,

will come, from me and you,

oh, it’s so sad, the world’s gone mad,

when Santa, wants a bailout too.

*

Now, he’s just sayin’, the same thing,

that the others, said before,

if Congress, doesn’t help him out,

he’ll be forced, to close his doors.

*

 Then everyone will suffer,

except, for the privileged few.

So we’ll dig that hole, a little deeper,

’cause Santa, wants a bailout too.

*

Even Santa, wants a bailout too.

I hope you enjoyed that. It was meant to be a song, and I am convinced it will become a Christmas classic, if, there is someone with musical talent that would like to share the royalties and corroborate on the venture with me, I am more than willing to listen to any proposals. It will never stop while they’re allowed to continue on their merry way…

    • The big problem Denise is thatthe government acts like it’sSanta Claus, andwe, the taxpayers, are the elves..We make the “toys” and Santa gives them away… Ho, ho, ho, my A**…And who’s going to clean-up after those “reindeer” anyway??

Thanks for liking it though!! Jake.
