Wisdom Imparted

Okay, everybody put your thinking caps on…. We haven’t had a challenge in quite some time, that’s about to change.  (I know,,, “but Jake, it’s Friday, and we’re not supposed to think on Friday, unless it’s about the weekend and stuff like that”) Well today, my richly intelligent, brilliantly talented, and knowledgeable readers, yes to you, the tried and true, the frequent, and the new, I will ask one thing of you…Visualize, then decipher the last stanza  Then tell me what do you think…

Answer on: ? (depending on the responses)

Have a thought-filled Friday,

Jake.

WISDOM IMPARTED

 “Our time here is fleeting,”

said the old man to the lad.

“So cherish every greeting,

of a morning, that you have.”

“Keep every friend you make,

for just as long as you can.

And for heaven’s sake,

stand up and be a man.”

“Choose wisely of a mate,

do not rush, to share your days.

For it’s better now, to wait,

and find a lover, who will stay.”

“Hold your trust for they,

who prove to you, their worth.

And walk, with head held high,

for all your days on earth.”

“Beware, the stranger’s knock,

that comes upon your door.

But, listen closely, to their talk,

to find, what’s at their core.”

Then, the old man closed his eyes,

and left the lad, at peace.

For, he knew the man, was wise,

and time, for the lad, had ceased.

Now Spring has arrived and now I must decide, which clothes that I can still wear. But I haven't lost any weight so I guess it's my fate to rummage through my closet and swear.

Hmm, Jack… The old man died peacefully, knowing that he had passed on his wisdom to the lad and that he had no time left for him. Quite a maze to unravel and so easy to misunderstand and think that the lad had died. Well done.

  2. Far too often it’s Wisdom “departed” when it comes to selecting women.

    • And after the divorce it’s— kingdom departed. (A man’s home was his castle until the damn attorneys and the judge and the state, ohyeah and the”EX”all get their “piece” and thatleaves you with the moat, and the note.)

I just put my thinking cap on . But it did not work. So I read it to my husband who said, and I quote, “I don’t know what the heck he is talking about.” So your two geniuses here in Ohio are clueless. Please enlighten so I can get some sleep tonight. Thank you.Rusty.

    • Okay, but you are getting the backstage tour, it is still in play, for a day or two. The old man closes his eyes to sleep, having seen in the lad’sface, that he has heard and understood the blueprint fora successfullife. And is confident the “lad” is no more …And he isa wise MAN now. Very simple…Sorry but youand Chris get an “incomplete” on this challenge!!
