The Genesis Seed

     I was hesitant to post this poem at this time, only because of the “darkness” that it portrays, and Mondays have a morose feeling all of their own. As I have said in the past “the best work of the poet and songwriter is that, which requires the least of it.”  This one practically wrote itself, as the words flowed from out of nowhere,  from some unknown “station”….and came to a stop in my “subway.”  It is new, and  I am really pleased with it, and I ask you only to read it and share your thoughts, good or bad, with me. But, please remember;

This is a work of fiction and any resemblance to any person or persons living or dead, is purely coincidental. (Just in case you were wondering.)

I hope you all have a miraculous Monday, (It can happen!)

Jake.

The Genesis Seed

Darkness, be the light,

that guides her lifelong journey,

and desperation, be her steed.

Whilst hopelessly wishing,

the path to eternity,

be now revealed, at great speed.

exalting always the struggle,

and she, the martyr be,

scourging herself to bleed.

Cursing her god,

for the darkness of being.

Yet, never seeking the genesis seed.

I love this Jack. Great portrayal of suffering. It could have beem me a few years ago… but now I have accepted that I am in the right place at the right time; my struggle is over.

    • I am so happy Denise that you are well, and that you are able to look back at your struggle, as a learning phase of your life. Thank you for your support, and as always your kind words. Have a glorius Monday. Your friend, Jake

You never cease to amaze me! This was a great selection today. Whilst ( your favorite word) I was dining on tea and scones and cucumber sandwiches you were posting such deep and thought provoking words. Thanks. Makes my day seem quite frivolous!!!

    • Frivilous is not a word that I think of when I think of you. Focused comes immediately to mind. Thank you though for those ego-boosting words Rusty. How are you doing with the clean out?

      • Beth Ann says:

Cleanout is moving right along. Hope this week to begin packing some stuff up that we will be moving back to Iowa with us and also pack up stuff that goes to my sister in law. Brother in law is pretty well traumatized by all of this but he is doing better than I thought he would at this point. It is a loooonnng process. Thanks for asking!

      • What about the house itself? Is any family member going to live in it? Or are you going to have to sell it, in this terrible housing market? Well, good luck, and as I said, focused is a word that I would use to describe you. I hope your Tuesday is going as well as possible, Jake.
