These past few days have been a time of solemn remembrances, and I for one, need a boost. No, not the extra/extra ‘Caffachino latte,’ or the ‘double Jamocha,’ (Beth Ann) with twelve sugars, or whatever it is that people are drinking today for a pick-me-up. No, I need some humor. How about a couple of short ones, (I can hear the grateful sighs.) I will start with a thought I had the other day. “Is Purgatory, God‘s Pre-Release Center”? Well anyway, here are two poems I really hope you will enjoy.
Jake.
Chivalry
Chivalry they say,
has passed away,
and given up the ghost.
Not true I say,
it did not die,
it’s merely comatose.

I’ve been beaten and battered,
and I’ve had bones shattered,
held together today, by a pin.
But, those things don’t matter,
for all, of the latter,
don’t explain, the shape,
that I’m in.

Note: The shattered bones and pin placement are pure fiction. The rest of it though, is truly make-believe!
Jake.
You are too much……:-) Thanks for the levity.
Surely we’ll find a way to wake that chivalry up again one day…
