The Wedding (Pt. 1)

Our first order of business was to pick up Melody (our grand-dogger) at Gregg’s mom’s house and deliver her safely to the Residence Inn, a dog friendly hotel, (and the entire town by the way). Mission accomplished! Beth (Rachel’s mom) and I had decided to forego the, “Crawl to the Altar” the previous evening (Thursday Aug. 18, 2011), for a number of reasons; one being Pretty Girl the cat. She is basically an outdoor cat and she would be required to spend a few days indoors with a litter box. (Boy did she let us know about it when we got home on Sunday.) Secondly, the party involved a lot, A Lot, of drinking and walking something that I have difficulty doing, (walking after drinking), lol. Thirdly too much to do beforehand..

So, we arrived in Portsmouth, N. H. on Friday morning, too early for check-in so we went directly to Rachel’s suite to visit for a while and make sure all was well with her and get the lowdown on the events of the previous evening, too lurid to share, (just kidding), but the party had begun! Next came check-in and the unpacking,(and a trip to K-Mart for a brown belt, which I forgot to pack), with plans to meet for lunch on the waterfront. Outdoors on the deck on a perfect summer’s day about twenty of us gathered for a tasty repast, at the “Old Ferry Landing.”  After lunch we retired to our room to ‘freshen up’ for the evening’s events. Below (r) is a picture of the lobby of the Residence Inn, the site of a later happening.

I will leave you with that tease, and bring you more info later.

One Response to The Wedding (Pt. 1)

  1. Beth Ann says:

Man, you know how to keep us all captivated and wanting more!!!! I had to laugh about the Kmart brown belt . We thought we were doing pretty well with our packing this last trip to Ohio until Chris discovered he did not have a black belt to wear with his suit to the funeral. Walmart was his early morning choice and it was iffy there for a minute—-between the John Deere and the cammo belts…….
Can’t wait to hear and see more!
