New Poem For Native American Week

     Yesterday I told you I had awakened with a thought for a new poem for ‘Native American Week’ at poemsandponderings. It was completed in a matter of hours..But, I had not given it a title as yet, so, with some help from Beth Ann over at It’s Just it now has a title. And if you log in on Saturday Aug. 6th, 2011, you will get to read my latest called;

The Unwanted Gift

(A history of Indian Affairs)

     I hope you will enjoy all of the poems this week. But, there is a message of the maltreatment of people, animals, and the environment, by our ancestors. I am not a tree-hugger, or even especially passionate about any particular cause. But I do believe that our “treatment” of the American Indian is a disgrace! And we should do a lot more for the people who were here and thriving, before the arrival of  US.

     Sundays are for Sermons,

     Tomorrow the first one will be “The Mother of Earth”
