The poet ponders, words to write,
the musician, notes, as well,
the pharmacist ponders, dosages,
while the clergy, ponder Hell.
The astronomer ponders, the universe,
the woodsman, which tree, to fell,
and the politicians, they just ponder,
on, which lie, to tell.
The teamster ponders, routes to take,
the salesman, what will sell,
the teacher, ponders lessons,
the sailor, the ocean’s swell.
The chemist ponders, mixtures,
the rancher, which stallion to geld,
ah, but the politicians,
still ponder, which lie, to tell.
The policeman ponders, the statutes,
the fireman, burning smells,
the soldier, ponders his duty,
and he ponders, war itself.
The philosopher ponders, life on earth,
while, the pugilist, ponders the bell,
but, the politicians now find it easier,
to ponder which truth, to tell.
