Wishes of a Lifetime

I wish I were,

a better son,

I wish I had,

another run,

I wish I was,

a better brother,

I wish that I,

could tell my mother,

that, if there’s any good,

in me,

it’s only there,

because of she.

I wish I was,

a better man,

I wish I’d done,

half, what I can,

I wish I was,

a better dad,

I wish more time,

with the one I had,

I wish for time,

that’s passed me by,

if only I,

had one more try.

I wish I were,

a better friend,

I wish that none,

had come to end,

I wish again,

that I could see,

those who were,

so good to me,

I wish back then,

I had the power,

to see the way,

I feel this hour.

I wish I had,

a bigger heart,

I wish I played,

a larger part,

I wish I had,

a legacy,

to leave to those,

who’ll remember me,

I wish this list,

was not so long,

to remind me now,

so much, done wrong.
